Women's Health Clinical Research Center

The Women’s Health Clinical Research Center (WHCRC) is a unique, multi-disciplinary research group that conducts clinical studies that have a positive impact on women’s health and well-being.
We believe that research should be driven by health questions that are important to women, their health care providers, and their caregivers.
The multidisciplinary research center provides a vibrant and growing focus for clinical research activities and strengthens clinical and teaching programs in women’s health.

Our History

The UCSF Women's Health Clinical Research Center (WHCRC) was founded in 2001 by Dr. Deborah Grady, UCSF Professor of Medicine and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, in order to bring together disparate women's health research investigators previously spread across UCSF campuses under one roof. The Center provides infrastructure for researchers from multiple departments to collaborate on projects designed to advance scientific understanding of women's health conditions and test new interventions to reduce their impact on women's functioning and well-being. The WHCRC emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to improving women’s health by recognizing the importance and interdependence of clinical care, research, leadership development, education, and partnering with communities.
