Dr. Karla Kerlikowske is Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF, Co-Director of the Women’s Clinic and Director of the Women’s Health Fellowship at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Her clinical research focuses on cancer epidemiology including studies of breast imaging, breast cancer risk assessment, breast density and epidemiology of invasive breast cancer and DCIS. She is Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded San Francisco Mammography Registry, which is a large-scale multi-disciplinary study that began in 1994 that involves six NIH-funded registries across the country that participate in the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium.
